Created in 1976, from the so-called Macromolecular Nucleus, the Instituto de Macromoleculas Professor Eloisa Mano (IMA) of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) is considered a reference in the area of Polymer Science and Technology in Brazil and Latin America.Through its consolidated Postgraduate Stricto Sensu program, since 1977 IMA has qualified more than 750 professionals among Masters and Doctors, reaching the concept 7, the maximum score according to the Brazilian Agency CAPES. It has a strong presence in undergraduation courses by means of consolidated programs such as Initiation to Scientific Research and the participation as one of the proponent institutions of the graduate course in Nanotechnology ofUFRJ. IMA also has its Lato Sensu Course on Specialization and Capacitation in Plastics and Rubber Processing, which since year 2000 has qualified more than 200 professionals who excel in their companies.
IMA-UFRJ is an inter and multidisciplinary institution whose main area of expertise is classified by CAPES as Engineering II. It has expertise in the areas of Engineering (Chemical, Production, Mechanical, Materials etc.), Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Biomedical, Medical, among others, which is an immense diversity of interest in research, offering greatly enhanced opportunities for more complete formation of a professional.
